Mesh: we need more control over the visualisation of outlines

Often, we need to visualize only the terrain with the section line, without projection lines. Or we might want to display only the contours in a floor plan. Sometimes, we just need a few specific ridges. Currently, it's not possible to achieve this directly, and we always have to rely on complicated workarounds. My proposal:

- Add a checkbox to deactivate outline visualization

- Add a context menu option to hide/show individual ridges of a mesh

Totally agree, Ángel. The Mesh tool really needs a comprehensive upgrade. Beyond the ability to control ridge visibility, I’d also love to see:

  • Support for composites, so Meshes could serve both structural and terrain purposes

  • An option for Archicad to automatically generate contour lines, based on a user-defined interval(e.g. every 25 cm, 1 m, etc.)

  • And most importantly: the ability to choose Floor Plan Display modes like other tools — for example, “Projected”, “Projected with Overhead”, “Cut Only”, etc. — to better control how Meshes appear in plan views

These additions would drastically simplify terrain modeling and improve clarity in documentation.

Completely right. The Mesh tool should be more focused and specialized on terrain modelling, where it is clearly missing a ton of features. I can’t believe we are already in 2025 and still don’t have a direct and easy terrain modeling workflow.
